R -- AGENCY-WIDE INTERPRETATION SERVICES SOL W-10-78983 POC Julie Speers tel: NASA intends to issue a RFP for services to provide oral interpretation, written translations of official and technical/ scientific/engineering documents, overseas logistical support, visa coordination, and in-country transportation services. This is a competitive small business requirement, and is restricted to small businesses including 8(a)'s. A portion of these services are currently being provided by BDM, International. A three-year, firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery type contract is contemplated as a result of this solicitation. The contractor will be required to provide the following: (a) interpretation and translation services for all languages (with an emphasis on Russian, Ukranian, Kazakhstani, Portuguese, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish) to all NASA centers and overseas; (b) interpreters and/or translators may be required to possess security clearances; (c) visa processing; (d) logistical services to include administrative and clerical support on-site overseas, and in-country transportation when NASA deems it necessary. U.S. interpreters/translators are expected to be State Department certified. Interpretation and translation needs include technical/scientific/engineering translation in all aspects of engineering, aeronautical science, space science, earth science, microgravity, and life sciences, and will require appropriate academic credentials. The SIC code for this proposed acquisition is 7389 - Business Services Not Elsewhere Classified; the applicable small business size standard is $5 million average annual revenue.
