The Social Security Administration's Office of Acquisition and Grants has developed the SSA Acquisition Data and Information Exchange (SADIE), an acquisition bulletin board system (BBS) to assist vendors in identifying requirements and competing for SSA business. The BBS currently contains electronic copies of SSA Requests for Proposals (RFP), Invitations for Bid (IFB), and bulletins about significant SSA acquisition-related activities. Vendors may also register on-line for the Solicitation Mailing List, in lieu of submitting a paper SF-129 registration. Future additions to the BBS will include Commerce Business Daily (CBD) Notices, Requests for Quote (RFQ), and Award Notices. All solicitation documents may be downloaded, and are stored in Word Perfect 5.1 and ASCII format using the PkZip file compression utility. Modem communications should be set for 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit (8-N-1), full duplex, and VT-100 or ANSI terminal emulation. Vendors located in the local Baltimore, MD calling area should access the BBS by dialing (410) 966-4889.
