The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division has a requirement to fabricate and test 4500 each Mercury Polarized 9.8 volt batteries with option quantities for an additional 9000 units. The batteries are used in underwater mines as power sources to energize the various components and circuits to cause eventual detonation of the mines after a proper sequence of events. The batteries will be fabricated to a U.S. Navy technical data package. A technical proposal will be required. The Government intends to evaluate proposals on a technically acceptable low price basis to award a firm fixed price contract. This procruement will be full and open competition.
