70 -- COLOR (HIGH-RESOLUTION) PRINTERS SOL 8153 DUE 060295 POC Contact Kimberly Kleeb, Contracting Officer 703/648-7370 The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement for high-resolution color printers that are compatible with USGS-owned Unix hardware platforms (DG- AViiON, SUN Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, Hewlett-Packard, IBM RS/6000), Personal computers, Power PC's and Macintosh's current and official operating system releases and fonts. Printers will have the capability to print 8.5 x 11 inches (22 x 28 cm), 8.5 x 14 inches (22 x 36 cm) and 11 x 17 inches (28 x 43 cm). All elements of the printers shall be standard products, configured as normally offered for sale on the commercial market at the time of contract award. The printers will be installed throughout the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The Government intends to operate these systems in both controlled and uncontrolled environments and expects consistent results with a temperature range from 50 - 90.5 degrees Fahrenheit (10 - 33 degrees Celsius) and 20 - 80 percent humidity. The estimated period of performance is one base year plus option periods through February 1998. Requests for solicitation 8153 must be in writing (FAX 703- 648-7901). Only one copy of the RFP will be issued per company (the addressee of the first request). No telephone requests for this solicitation package will be accepted.
