Brockmeier, Contract Specialist (202) 366-9567 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has a requirement to estimate cost of design changes made by auto manufacturers to comply with the dynamic requirement of side impact crash protection standard (FMVSS 214), cost estimates of driver and passenger airbags (FMVSS 208) in pickup trucks, vans, and multipurpose passenger vehicles and into 1995 model year passenger cars. The anticipated period of performance is 12 months for a base period with two 12 month options. It is anticipated that the base period will be conducted on a cost reimbursement basis, with option periods conducted on an indefinite quantity, time and material basis. The solicitation will be mailed to those organizations responding in writing to this announcement. The anticipated issue date for this solicitation is April 20, 1995.(0102)
