Contract Specialist, (817/334-3476). Work for Part A will replace
approximately 113,000 sy of existing bituminous pavement and aggregate
base with new aggregate base and bituminous surface course. The work
includes selected Portland cement concrete removal and replacement,
crack sealing and fog sealing of bituminous concrete pavements,
resealing of Portland cement concrete pavement joints, pavement
marking, and turfing. Work for Part B will replace all taxiway and
runway lighting systems, including threshold lights, pre-threshold and
terminating bar lights, distance markers, edge lights, approach
lights, and flasher systems. A Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI)
will replace the existing VASI. Estimated Cost Range: $5,000,000 to
$10,000,000 - - Bid sets available at $44.65 for half-size and $94.15
for full-size. No individual sheets of half-size drawings may be
purchased. Requests by mail must include payment in the applicable
amount by check or money order made payable to F&A Officer, USAED FTW
and Sent to: USACE, Attn: Room 13A42, Post Office Box 17300, 819 Taylor
Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102-0300. NO EXPRESS MAIL PROCEDURES WILL
BE UTILIZED ON INITIAL MAILINGS OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. Requests
in person may be paid by cash. No refund will be made and materials
need not be returned. If project is cancelled or no award is made, cost
of plans and specifications will be refunded only on written request.
Solicitation to be issued on or about 9 May 95. Bid opening on or about
8 Jun 95. Duration of contract 340 days. If a large busines firm is
selected for this announcemnet, it must comply with FAR 52.219-9 clause
regarding the requirement for a subcontracting plan. The Fort Worth
District goals are 60.3% of the contractor's total planned subcontract
amount be placed with Small Businesses; 9.8% of the total planned
subcontract amount with Small Disadvantaged Business; and 2.9% of the
total planned subcontract amount with Women Owned Small Business. The
plan is not required as part of this submittal. The plan will be due
upon notification by the Contracting Officer and submitted within the
time specified. Bids from all responsible sources will be considered.
