Bandur,415/74 4-5483 The General Services Administration (GSA) will be up-grading twelve elevators in the historic Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse located at 312 N. Spring Street in Los Angeles, CA. The building contains ten passenger and two freight elevators; all elevators will be renovated, one freight elevator will be converted to another use. Renovation will include Mechanical and Electrical system upgrades for compliance with UFAS and ADA requirements in conjunction with the elevator up-grades. This contract may also include a three year follow-on service contract. The estimated total cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This procurement will be opened to both large and small businesses. In the event award is made to a large business concern, a small business subcontracting plan will be required in accordance with Public Law 95.507. The contractor will be required to demonstrate a certain level of expertise and the capability to provide maintenance support within four hours notice. The prime contractor will be required to perform at least forty percent of the work. A 20% Bid Bond is required. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required prior to receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This is not an Invitation for Bids. The Solicitation Package will be available around June 1995. A limited number of solicitation packages will be available and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. The date and time of the Pre-Bid/Site Visit will be specified in the solicitation.
