A -- VERIFICATION TESTING OF PACKAGE TECHNOLOGIES FOR SMALL DRINKING WATER SYSTEMS Sol DW-501. Contact Point - Jeffrey Q Adams, 513-569-7835. This action was originally publicized in the CBD dated 3/14/95, however, the Risk Reduction Engineering Laboratory (RREL) finds it necessary to delay the RFPA at this time. There are two issues necessitating this delay. First, there is some uncertainty as to the availability of FY 1995 funds from the Environmental Technology Initiative (ETI) to fund the RFPA. Second, there are discussions going on within the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as to the best approach for conducting an Environmental Technology Verification Program. Hopefully, these two issues will be resolved within the next several weeks. Depending on the resolution of the above two issues, the RFPA will either be extended or withdrawn. If it is extended, all requestors will be notified by letter that the RFPA will be continued beyond the original deadline for Pre-Application submission of May 1, 1995. The plan would be to continue the deadline for six weeks from the time of notification that the RFPA is no longer delayed. For example, if notification that the RFPA is resumed, as of June 15, 1995 then you will have until July 26, 1995 to submit a Pre-Application. In the event tha the RFPA has to be withdrawn, a notification will be sent to all requestors by letter and a notification of cancellation will also be publicized in the CBD. In the meantime, RREL, will continue to honor requests for the RFPA (for informational purposes only) in accordance with the Commerce Business Daily announcement published on March 14, 1995. Any organization requesting the details of the RFPA through May 1, 1995 will be provided them along with a delay-notification letter. Because of the uncertainty associated with the funding of this RFPA, you are not encouraged to prepare or submit a Pre-Application prior to further written notification.
