Y -- SAFETY MODIFICATIONS, YUMA DESALTING PLANT, COLORADO RIVER BASIN SALINITY CONTROL PROJECT - TITLE I, YUMA, ARIZONA SOL 1425-5-SI-30-11800. Contact Ms. Sonja Poindexter, Procurement Technician, 702-293-8524; Synopsis No. 95-16. The work to be performed under this solicitation is to make modifications to the Yuma Desalting Plant. The principal components of the work are as follows: (a) Demolition of two 500 mm X 4620 mm X 515 mm reinforced concrete equipment pedestals in the Compressor Building; (b) Furnish and install concrete materials to repair the area of the equipment pedestal demolition in the Compressor Building, to construct three concrete steps at the three manholes in the SCR Area, and to build two concrete steps in the Process Area; (c) Furnish and install 5970 mm of 1200 mm wide fiberglass grating assembly in the Compressor Building; (d) Furnish and install 33880 mm of 744 mm wide fiberglass grating assembly in the Process Area; (e) Furnish and install 30660 mm of 823 mm wide fiberglass grating assembly in the Process Area; (f) Furnish and install 9310 mm of 2-inches fiberglass square tubing guardrail in the Process Area; (g) Furnish and install six fiberglass guardrail gates in the Process Area; (h) Saw-cut existing concrete curb in the Process Area; (i) Furnish and install five fiberglass stairs and one fiberglass ladder in the Process Area; (j) Furnish and install 8470 mmof 1-1/2 inches diameter steel pipe guardrail in the Sulfuric Acid Storage Area; (k) Saw-cut three existing steel plate covers for manhole and install three covers in the SCR Area; (1) Furnish and install three steel ladders in the manhole of the SCR Area; and (m) Furnish and install two butterfly gates in the east and west side of the Dual Media Filters. The estimated cost range of this project is $25,001 to $100,000. The location of this project is the Yuma Desalting Plant, Yuma Area Office, 7301 Calle Agua Salada, Yuma, Arizona. The performance time for completion of this project is 120 days. The presolicitation notice (SF-1417) for this project is currently available. This solicitation is a Total Labor Surplus Area Set-Aside. For this acquisition the Standard Industrial Classification code is 1542 and the Small Business Size Standard is $17 million. The estimated issuance date of the solicitation is 5/1/95. The estimated date for receipt of bids is 6/1/95.
