02631A, 703-602-0951. The Naval Sea Systems Command is conducting a
market survey to determine whether sources of supply exist to provide
fifty (50) beacon lights in FY96 in support of the Beacon, Breach Lane
Navigation, EX 7 Mod O System. This procurment is for a component of
a system that is comprised of one (1) beacon light, one (1) fluxgate
compass, two (2) cables, four (4) batteries, two (2) battery
containers, one (1) tripod, and one shipping/storage container. The
beacon light shall weigh no more than 10 lbs and shall not have a
dimension larger than 18 x 6 inches. The beacon light shall emit a
square beam that subtends 6 degrees horizontally and 6 degrees
vertically. The beam shall be subdivided vertically into two colored
sectors with a red warning section located on the right side and a
green warning section located on the left side. The beacon light shall
be easily visible from 2,000 yards. The beacon light mounting shall
provide for a two inch square flat surface with a threaded 1/4 hole to
fit standard camera mounting. The minimum candlepower (candelas) of
the beam shall be 400 candelas at 12 volts when measured at a distance
of 3m (10ft). The beacon light shall withstand submergence for 30
minutes at a minimum depth of 1m (3ft). Only written requests received
directly from the requestor are acceptable. This synopsis is not a
request for proposal and in no way binds the Government to award a
contract. All responsible sources interested in being considered as a
potential prime contractor must submit a request in writing to Mr. John
C. Piunno, SEA02631A, no later than thirty (30) days after publication
