A -- A -- F/A-18 TACTICAL RECONNAISSANCE SYSTEM SOL N00019-94-G-0291 POC Contact, Steve Frate, Phone (703)604-6100 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to place an order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-94-G-0291 for engineering effort required for the F/A-18 Tactical Reconnaissance System Development (TACRECCE). This effort will include integration of several Advanced Tactical Airborne Reconnaissance System (ATARS) suites; digital tape recorder detail design and integration with the ATARS sensor suite and the F/A-18 weapon system; update of design data; and data link analyses and testing to support F/A-18 weapon system effectiveness. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this order with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace, the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft, and as such the only firm possessing the technical knowledge, expertise, and detailed familiarity with the design and specifications of the F/A-18 aircraft required to provide timely integration.
