The Volpe Center is in the process of issuing a solicitation for emergency response for environmental remediation. This solicitation is expected to be issued by June 5, 1995. All work, including transportation and disposal of contaminated material, shall be performed in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations. Permit/license requirements necessary to perform any and all work shall be the responsibility of the contractor. Based on responses to the November 28, 1994 market survey, the Government plans to issue this solicitation on a full and open competitive basis under SIC Code 8744. The solicitation will result in one contract award, with an ordering period of no more than 60 months and a maximum ceiling of $5 million. The contract to be awarded will be a cost-plus-award-fee, indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity contract. Firms that have previously requested the solicitation under the November 28, 1994 sources sought synopsis will receive a separate mailing as to the solicitation that they are interested in receiving. This announcement is based on the best information available, is subject to additional modification, is not a request for proposals, and in no way commits the Government to award a contract. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small Business and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
