O'Sullivan, (215)897-5427 The FISC Norfolk, Detachment Philadelphia, intends to procure UHF SATCOM Remote Bi-Directional Amplifier Systems to support the United States Special Operations Command's six (6) theaters. This procurement shall be issued on an unrestricted basis. The contractor shall provide ten (10) units of the UHF SATCOM Remote Bi-Directional Amplifier System. The UHF SATCOM Amplifier shall be deployable near the SATCOM antenna and be capable of supplying 50 Watts of transmit power to the SATCOM antenna. The amplifier system shall be capable of compensating for cable losses of up to 240 feet. The amplifier shall include filtering and amplification that enable the unit to be co-located with several other transmitting antennas without interference. When DC power is removed, or the amplifier is turned off, a low insertion loss, wide band bypass shall be provided through the system without the need for re-cabling. The amplifier shall be sealed for operation in any weather condition, small enough in size for tactical use, and ruggedized for use in harsh environments. Other required features of the UHF SATCOM Remote Amplifier System will be set forth in the solicitation. Delivery is required no later than 30 July 1995. Placement of a firm fixed price contract is anticipated. The applicable Standard Industrial Classification Number is 4899.
