Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, MD, has a
requirement for a contractor to furnish a battery-powered phased array
doppler sodar, with the following principal features: Average range
1600 ft (500 m); 12V battery powered; Average power consumption less
than 25 watts; System weight without battery less than 100lbs (45 kg);
Automatic real-time data validation; Precision of at least 3 percent
on wind speed and 3 degrees on wind direction; Wind speed range to 67
mph (30 m/s); Adjustable number of gates and gate thickness; Multiple
thickness coding; Automatic fixed echo detection; Fast Fourier
Transform doppler detection by software; Standard display and recording
of echo strength, wind speed, wind direction, and vertical speed;
Operation from a notebook computer; Ability to output data to disk and
screen; Software options for Sigma w, Sigma Theta, and inversion
detection. Delivery is required within 60 - 90 days after award of the
contract, FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD. All responsible sources
