In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 28.1 - Bonds: Bid Guarantee shall be 20% of bid price but shall not exceed $3.0 million; Performance Bond shall be 100% of original bid price; Payment Bond shall be $2.5 million if contract price exceeds $5.0 million. The Census Bureau proposes to construct a computer facility (Census Bureau Computer Facility, CBCF) ;ocated in Bowie, MD. Ab- breviated Work Summary: Briefly, and without force and effect upon con- tract documents, work of contract can be summarized as follows: Construct- ion of a single story, 11,200 square meters, computer facility and associ- ated site, landscape, mechanical, elecetrical, and plumbing work. Con- tractor should coordinate with local jurisdictions concerning any special permits. It is expected that the State of Maryland will require an air permit for boilers and registration and permit for each fuel oil tank. This project is designed in HARD METRIC. Basis of Award: Lump Sum Base Bid, Altrnate No. One for hte addition of HVAC redundancy and associated electrical and plumbing work. The work under this contract shall commence within one calendar day after the Contractor receives Notice to Proceed and shall be complete ready for use not later than 605 calendar days after re- ceipt of Notice to Proceed.
