The work of this project consists of preparation of a Lenape/Delaware Cultural Affiliation Study. The study goals include the identification of sociocultural relationships between past and present peoples occupying areas under National Park Service stewardship, and identification of appropriate cnsulting parties and consultation approaches. The proposed project concerns the identification and documentation of cultural affiliation(s) between contemporary Lenape/Delaware groups to human remains and other Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) affected items in the collections at Ellis Island National Monument, New York; Morristown National Historical Park, New Jersey; and Fort Stanwix National Monument, New York. The result will assist the National Park Service in repatriation decisions. The solicitation is set-aside for small business concerns.
