Market survey, not a synopsis. The purpose of this acquisition is to
provide the best quality of training in support of the United States
Army chemical destruction and remediation activity (usacdra) through 1
April 2004. The governmnent owned chemical demilitarization training
facility is located in the Edgewood area of Aberdeen Proving Ground,
MD. The acquisition objective is to be AC-complished by analyzing the
work to be performed at all sites, DE-termine training requirements,
and develop training material to meetobjectives. The training provided
will be continually monitored and updated to keep the training up to
date with the demil technology and to maintain the fidelity of the
training to the demil sites. In addition, the contract shall also
provide testing and evaluation Sup-port to the chemical
demilitarization facilities. NOTE: United States Army chemical
destruction and remediation activity (usacdra) has been established in
accordance with title 14, part B, section 1412 of Public LAW 99-145 as
amended, which directs the secretary of defense to Carry out the
destruction of the United States of americadstockpile of lethal
chemical agents and munitions by the most effective, safe
environmentally acceptable, and economic means available. The LAW
specifically directs the development of ademilitarization program that
is safe for workers, the Public, and the environment. The technology
incorporated in the present disposal process consists of mechanical
disassembly or penetration of the mun-itions, separation of agent,
energetics, metal parts, and dunnage in separate furnaces. This
technology has been demonstrated at johnston atoll chemical
