ICI Americas, the Facility Use Contractor for the Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant (VAAP), located in Chattanooga, Tennessee offers a 300 acre Environmental Testing Site for the demonstration of site characterization or remediation technologies for Trinitrotoluene (TNT) and related organic compounds. Sponsored by the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP), as a DOD/National Environmental Technology Demonstration Program (D/NETDP) test site, this location is currently under the program management of the Army Environmental Center (AEC.) Administrative offices and a fully equipped and staffed Process Control Laboratory are available to support a demonstration program. The proposed test is fully characterized relative to concentrations of TNT/Organics/Metals in both soil and ground water. The Volunteer facility is also available to evaluate other environmental technologies upon request.
