POC: Contracting Officer, LTC Banks C Kelly III, 919/664-6205. Pre-solicitation to ``renovate and construct addition to fire station''. The North Carolina Air National Guard (NCANG), Charlotte, NC has a requirement to renovate and construct an addition to existing fire station. The existing facility will receive a general renovation that will replace and/or repair finishes and some equipment. The building will receive a complete interior painting and exterior re-caulking. Interior partition walls will be reworked to accomodate the addition and replace the existing overhead bay doors with exterior mounted roll up doors. The existing bunker locker storage will be demolished to open up the tenth bay for vehicle use. The new addition will consist of 1,400 square feet of masonry exterior walls, metal studded drywall interior partition walls and a single ply membrane roof. The project also includes the demolition and rework of some of the existing mechanical HVAC system with the installation of new unitary air conditioning system with a remote condensing unit and duct system. Also, electrical system will be installed and updated throughout the facility. The project is located at the North Carolina Air National Guard, 5225 Morris Field Drive, Charlotte NC. The completion time for this project is 180 calendar days. Interested SDB shall as early as possible, but not later than 15 calendar days after publication of this notice, indicate interest in bidding as the prime or as a subcontractor on the project, evidence of capability to perform including references for similar work with contract numbers, points of contact and telephone numbers and a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern. In addition, dolloar amount of current construction bonding capability is required. If adequate interest is not received from qualified SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis without further notice. Therefore, replies to this notice are requested from all interested Business concerns as well as from SDB concerns. Replies must indicate the firm's size status such as large business, small business, small disadvantaged business or 8(a). The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 1542. The applicable small business size standard including affiliates is no more than $17.0M average annual revenue for the previous three years.''
