58 -- RECEIVER PROTECTOR POC Cheryl Martin, (405) 954-7829 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for an estimated annual quantity of 15 each receiver protectors, Varian P/N VDL-1014, NSN 5895-01-373-0348. Requirements include option provisions to renew for two additional 1-year periods. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 3679. The proposed contract will incorporate FAR 52.217-9, Option to Extend the Term of the Contract. These supplies are only known to be manufactured by Varian Crossed Field & Receiver Protector Products because the items are proprietary and must be compatible with existing equipment. These items are for use in the Air Route Surveillance Radar (ARSR-3) System and are required to provide continued logistics support and to prevent radar outages. The FAA does not have specifications or drawings in order to compete this requirement. Other concerns having the ability to furnish the above property are required to provide written notification (including the name and telephone number of a point of contact) to the procuring office listed in this notice, with reference made to market survey file #36-001, within 45 calendar days from the date of this publication. Written responses must provide a complete set of specification drawings, all required standards and testing specifications, test plans, parts list, and proof of the rights to use the data. Also provide specifications, test equipment list, special test fixture drawings/specifications, and application documentation applicable to the test fixtures and all additional documentation necessary to evaluate the concern as a possible source. Statments that data will be obtained or that specifications or drawings will be developed are not acceptable. The information requested is necessary to determine the ability to be compatible with existing equipment. Only those responses providing the required documentation in response to this market survey will be considered prior to further acquisition action by the Government. Any information received as a result of this announcement will not be provided to other contractors and will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the Government. (0109)
