The Administration for Children and Families, Administration on
Children, Youth and Families requires the services of a contractor to
provide substantial and effective programmatic technical assistance to
the States to aid them in their efforts to implement the National
Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS). The contractor shall be
required to continue consensus building with the States, national
organizations, and users of NCANDS data, including vendors of software
and hardware services to the States; to maintain on-going program and
data development and reporting, including the phasing-in of additional
States under the Detailed Case Development Component of NCANDS; to
document good practices in data development and reporting in support of
effective implementation of the NCANDS; to ensure the effective
coordination of NCANDS with related data collection and automated
information systems development efforts at the Federal and State
levels; and to promote greater understanding and use of data on child
maltreatment. The anticipated period of performance of the contract is
48 months. The contract will be incrementally funded in four phases of
12 months each. Interested parties should request RFP 105-95-1849. All
requests must be in writing. No telephone requests will be honored.
The anticipated release date is May 9, 1995. Numbered Note 1. All
