The Naval Medical Logistics Command has a requirement for one Analyzer Enzyme Immunoassay Unit. This instrument is designed for high volume, automated testing, in compliance with FDA marketing requirements, of the following: AUSAB, AUSAB Quantitative, AUSZYME, AUSZYME IV, Chlamydiazyme, CMV-T AB, CMV-M, CORZYME, CORZYME-M, CORZYME-M (rDNA), GONOZYME, HAVAB, HAVAB-M, Hbe (rDNA), HbsAg, HCV, HIVAB, HIVAG-1 (blocking agent), HIVAG-1, HTLV-1, HTSH, IgE, ROTAZYME II, RES, RUBAZYME, TOXO-G, TOXO-M. The instrument shall have a throughput capacity of not less than 175 samples per hour, all day, seven days a week, without reducing the equipment life expectancy. The unit must be designed to minimize operator exposure to blood and blood-born pathogens and other hazardous materials. The unit shall automatically process the samples, perform the indicated tests, and output the results. Operator intervention in the intermediate steps shall not be required. The unit shall operate from available line power, 115 VAC/60 Hertz, single phase. The following Abbott Laboratories Diagnostics Division items are required: Parallel Processing Center #6208-01 (1 ea.); Dynamic Incubator #6210-01 (1 ea.); Auszyme Reagent #1980-24 (1 kit); HAVAB Reagent #7895-24 (1 kit); HIV 1/2 #3A77-24 (1 kit); HCV # 4A14-24 (1 kit); HCV #4A14-24 (1 kit); Tricontinent Package #7186-05 (1 pkg); Tricontinent Package #7186-18 (1 pkg); Waste Tube Assembly #6208-23 (1 pkg); Plate Cover Sealers #7830-30 (5 pkg); Plastic Forceps #7186-12 (3 pkg). The contract is contemplated to be a Firm Fixed Price contract. The Navy intends to negotiate with Abbott Laboratories Diagnositcs Division, 1 Abbott Park Rd, Abbott Park, IL 60064 as the only responsible source that can provide the aforementioned equipment.
