Bandur,415/74 4-5483 Correction: This action originally publicized in the Commerce Business Daily dated Friday, April 14, 1995, is modified as follows: The General Services Administration (GSA) has a requirement for an elevator contractor to provide all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, services, technical expertise and incidentals to upgrade thirteen elevators in the historic Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse located at 312 N. Spring Street in Los Angeles, CA. The building contains ten passenger and three freight elevators. All elevators will be renovated, one freight elevator will be converted to a security elevator. Renovation will include Mechanical and Electrical system upgrades and compliance with UFAS and ADA requirements incidental to the elevator upgrades. This contract will also include a three year follow-on service contract. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This procurement will be opened to both large and small businesses. In the event award is made to a large business concern, a small business subcontracting plan will be required in accordance with Public Law 95.507. The contractor will be required to demonstrate a certain level of expertise and the capability to provide maintenance support. The prime contractor will be required to perform at least fifty percent of the work and the prime contractor should be a firm that specializes in elevator modernization. A 20% Bid Bond is required. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required prior to receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This is not an Invitation for Bids. The Solicitation Package will be available approximately at the end of May 1995. A limited number of solicitation packages will be available and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. The date and time of the Pre-Bid/Site Visit will be specified in the solicitation.
