Officer, 601-634-2423 The USAE Waterways Experiment Station proposes to
issue a sole source contract to Perkin-Elmer Corporation, Norwalk, CT
for the purchase of a six element simultaneous graphite furnace atomic
absorption spectrometer with Zeeman background correction. The
instrument must have the capability to be configured to any six of the
20+ elements for which lamps are available. The flexibility of the
Perkin-Elmer instrument is needed to analyze a wide selection of
elements in matrices where Zeeman background correction is essential.
Perkin-Elmer is the only known source that can provide this
requirement. If no other sources are found the Government intends to
award a contract to Perkin-Elmer Corporation pursuant to the authority
