POC D. Dennis 0222, (703)602-0980. Synopsis No. 34 The Space and Naval
Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) is seeking sources to operate and
maintain a Navy owned cable ship and to install, repair and design
undersea cable systems and hardware for undersea surveillance systems.
The prospective contractor will provide ship's crew, messing, repair
and refit, fueling, insurance, shore support, communications, mission
planning, special equipment operation, and system engineering and
technical support for at-sea operations. The ship docks NSC Cheatham
Annex, Williamsburg, VA, it will operate worldwide. You are advised
that on 3 May 1995 a draft Performance Work Statement will be available
for review and comment on the SPAWAR bulletin Board System (BBS). The
DRAFT Information will only be available by calling the SPAWAR BBS,
(703)602-9494, and downloading. The Bulletin Board operates at 14,400
BAUD with a setting of 8:N:1. The DRAFT Information will be in
WordPerfect 6.0 or MS Word 5.1 format. The file will be compressed by
a shareware program, PKZIP 2.04G. Until an RFP Number is assigned
information will appear as ZEUS - Sea Ops. To download the DRAFT
Information, the prospective offeror will need at a minimum, PC or MAC
with modem emulation software that supports VT100 or ANSI standing, a
modem that operates between 300 bps - 14.4K bps and a minimum of 1.5
MEG free disk space. The DRAFT Information will be available O/A 3 May
1995. All interested parties must indicate whether they are Large
Business, Small Business (SB), Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), or
8(a) Set-aside. All interested parties are also requested to optionally
provide answers to a questionnaire on electronic contracting. Telephone
inquiries for the DRAFT Information will not be honored. Interested
parties who would like a copy of the DRAFT Information must access the
bulletin board. The bulletin board will be available 24 hours a day,
seven days a week. However, as the demand may be heavy, it may be
necessary to call repeatedly or during off hours. If any assistance is
needed regarding use of the BBS, please contact Mark Gurganus at
(703)602-1842. If you do not have access to a modem, you may bring a
high density, 3 1/2'' disk to the Contractor Liaison Branch, Space and
Naval Warfare Systems Command, 2451 Crystal Drive CPK5, Arlington VA
22245-5200, ROOM 201 between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm.
Interested parties should upload their comments/questions to the DRAFT
RFP File Library, and the file name must contain ZEUS plus three other
characters of their choice, example ZEUSSYS.DOC. The subsequent
procurement will be separately synopsized in the CBD. Additional
information including the anticipated procurement schedule, planned
site visit and availability of a technical library will be posted on
