The work will consist of the removal of an old disconnect and the installation of a new T1 disconnect switch. The T1 disconnect is a 500 kV, 2000 amp, 3-pole switch located between the powerhouse main transformers and the electrical distribution lines. During a two-week powerhouse electrical outage, remove existing disconnect and support platform, and install new contractor-fabricated structural steel platform and walkway and install new Government-furnished disconnect switch, electric motor operators, surge resistors, and post type insulators. Disconnect switch manufacturer's technical representative will assist with installation of equipment. Estimated cost is between $25,000 and $100,000.
