Z -- HOSPITAL LIFE SAFETY UPGRADE, OFFUTT AFB, NEBRASKA SOL DACA45-95-B-0067 DUE 061595 POC Contact Contracting Division at: (402)221-4266. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) This project is a Life Safety Code Upgrade involving the following work to the existing 250,000 SF Hospital: Installation of new fire sprinkler system (100,000 SF); Fire detection and alarm system modifications; Smoke & fire wall construction (new and altering existing walls); Ceiling replacement (acoustical tile, gypsum wallboard, & plaster); Construction of an enclosed exit corridor (Steel framed) on the existing roof; Alterations to an existing exterior stair tower; New mechanical make-up air unit, ductwork alterations, fire dampers, access panels, and revisions to water, sanitary, gas and plumbing; New electrical lighting, emergency power alterations, new exit signs, and new conduit, wiring & outlets; Asbestos abatement; Door, frame & hardware alterations; Seal existing wall penetrations; Demolition; Interior finishes (paint, vinyl wall covering tile, carpeting, etc.); Signage; and Extensive Construction Phasing. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 476 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a May 15, 1995. Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to 2 (two) per firm (additional copies will be the responsibility of the requestor).
