E. Mallgrave (301) 975-6330 NIST intends to procure the services of a
Contractor to design and construct a vacuum chamber and vacuum pumping
system for a Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS). The FTS consists of
a set of optical components (apertures, mirrors, beam splitters, and
detectors) that are mounted on an optical table 48 inches wide by 120
inches long. The optical table is supported by four pneumatic vibration
isolation legs. The entire system of table and legs shall be contained
within the vacuum chamber. The chamber will include a pumping system
capable of evacuating the chamber to a pressure of 15 mTorr. The vacuum
pump must be vibrationally isolated from the chamber. The Government
anticipates award of a firm-fixed price contract, FOB Destination, with
delivery desired within 120 days and required within 135 days from date
of award. Requests for the solicitation shall be written and mailed to
