OBJECTIVE PERSONAL WEAPON CONFERENCE Lawrence F. Franz, email= lfranz, Contract Specialist, (201) 724-4894. JSSAP Objective Personal Weapon (OPW) Conference: The U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) and the Joint Service Small Arms Program (JSSAP), in conjunction with the American Defense Preparedness Association (ADPA), will conduct an intensive two day Objective Personal Weapon Conference at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The dates are the 9th and 10th of August 1995. The origin of this Conference is derived from the Joint Service Small Arms Master Plan (JSSAMP). The JSSAMP identifies the Objective Personal Weapon (OPW) as a candidate replacement weapon for the current family of personal weapons, as presently exist in the several branches of the Armed Forces, including the Coast Guard and Special Operations Command. The main objective of this conference is to identify supporting technologies and new concepts (as well as the barriers to development these technologies or concepts) which will facilitate the realization of the user defined thresholds and objectives for the OPW. (See Figure 1.). The OPW is intended to meet the required capabilities of several user communities, to include conventional military, special operations forces and law enforcement. Stephen C. Responses to this notice including the participation of the delegation and the service of organizing it, will be at no cost to the Government. No contract award will be made as a result of any response. Contingent upon meeting established security requirements, industry of the following countries have been determined to be eligible to participate in the JSSAP OPW Conference (based on a previously published JSSAP Objective Individual Weapon's (CBD): Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Italy and the United Kingdom.
