Officer (301) 496-6546. THIS ACQUISITION IS 100% SMALL BUSINESS
SET-ASIDE. The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has a requirement for
the technical and bibliographic inspection of a)
current-contractor-produced preservation microfilm; b) preservation
microfilm previously produced by the NLM or produced under previous NLM
contracts; and c) microfilm purchased from other sources. The source
material consists of both serials and mongraphs, in a variety of
languages. The inspection consists of, but is not limited to, checking
the microfilm for technical problems relating to resolution, density,
scratches, improper processing, etc., as well as bibliographic
problems associated with incorrect targeting, obscured or missing text,
incompleteness, misbound or misnumbered pages, etc., and entering this
information on inspection forms to be supplied. The microfilm to be
inspected will normally be the negative 35mm 2nd generation silver
duplicate; occasionally, the microfilm will be the negative 35mm 1st
generation silver camera master. It may, however, be purchased 3rd
generation microfilm, either positive or negative. The inspection will
be performed off-site at the contractor's production facility. The
contractor will provide scheduled, secure environmentally-controlled
transportation of the NLM's microfilm between sites. All responsible
small business sources may submit a proposal which will be considered
