Provide all labor, material, equipment, transportation and supervision required to conduct various repairs on towers at U.S. Coast Guard Loran Station Carolina Beach, NC. USCG Loran Station Carolina Beach has a top-loaded inverted pyramid (TIP) antenna system that is connected to four 625 ft. towers. The repairs shall include: Replacing a tubular horizontal brace on Tower 3, replacing damaged junction box weatherseal fittings, replacing clevis bolts and nuts in the main antenna link connections on each tower, mechanically cleaning all rusty areas on link plate hardware, replacing rusty cotter pins in all insulator assemblies and antenna feed connection plates, coating fiberglass insulator rods, and cleaning the antenna feed connection plate. Contractor will need to lower the main antenna panel to perform the repairs. Temporary guys will need to be installed for structural integrity. This procurement is estimated between $25K and $100K and is open to large and small businesses under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The applicable SIC code is 1623. Bid opening is on/or about 13 June 1995. Completion time is 50 DANTP; however, actual repair must be completed in two days. No telephone requests. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
