Z -- RENOVATION OF BLDG. 801 Contact: J.E. Teahan, Contracts Administrator, 516-282-3140. This contract will be set aside for bidding by small businesses only. SIC code 1541 applies. Work consists of the renovation of Building 801 to include: installation of drywall partitions, interior doors, painting, lab furniture, fume hood, flooring, fire alarm system, HVAC, plumbing and electric. Work also includes the renovation of a 3 ton overhead crane and the installation of steel plate shield walls and doors and a radioactive waste neutralization and solidification system. HVAC work includes the installation of HEPA and active charcoal filters. Plumbing work includes the installation of gas, air and vacuum lines. Work on this contract will be required to be coordinated with the installation of new hot boxes which will be performed on a separate contract. Estimated construction cost is $500,000 to $1,000,000. Estimated construction time is 40 weeks. Bid documents will be available on or about June 15, 1995. A 20% bid bond is required. Payment and performance bonds are required after contract award. Brookhaven is charging a non-refundable fee of $75 for bid documents. Personal checks made out to ``Brookhaven National Laboratory'' are acceptable. Checks may be sent immediately and bid packages will be mailed upon availability. Requests for bid packages received without proper payment will not be acknowledged. (111)
