AMC Contracting Flight anticipates issuance of a competitive solicitation for the acquisition of 481 Laser Range Finders and Maintenance. Hardware requirements shall be met with hand held equipment capable of measuring the distance to cloud bases when pointed in the vertical position, provided the clouds are dense enough to enable a reading. This equipment must be able to range ''targets'' from 50 meters up to 9,000 meters. The laser range finders must come with a carrying case to facilitate ease of transport. The units should come with a standard commercial warranty. The government intends to purchase maintenance for these units upon the expiration of the warranty period and will be responsible to ship the units to the contractor's repair facility. The contractor shall be responsible to repair and return the equipment within 45 days of receipt. Distribution of the units may be spread over approximately 200 field locations. Alternate proposals will not be solicited. The performance schedule will consist of one base period and four options. The RFP is anticipated to be released on 07 Jul 95. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this acquisition is 3829. All interested offerors shall indicate their business size, their telephone number, facsimile number, and ZIP PLUS FOUR code in their written request for the RFP. The Contracting Office cannot guarantee receipt of the RFP if the ZIP PLUS FOUR code is not provided. Verbal requests will not be acted upon.
