The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division plans to procure a 14 inch Gyrostabilized Turret Gimbal and Optional EO Sensor in accordance with provided specifications. Following is general specifications: 1) Gimbal shall be capable of supporting four EO sensors, have 4-axis stabilization capabile of better than 35 micro radin stability, a field of regard of 360 degree continuous azimuth, and +/- 90 degree elevation at slew rates of 100 degrees per second. 2) The gimbal shall contain a high resolution mid-wave IR image sensor capable of 512 x 512 element resolution, three fields of view (2 degree x 2 degrees to 20 degrees x 20 degrees), and a NTSC standard video output signal. 3) The gimbal shall contain a 768 x 494 element resolution daylight color television camera with a zoom lens capable of field of view from 3 degrees x 3 degrees to 20 degrees x 20 degrees and a NTSC standard video output signal. 4) The gimbal shall contain a laser range finder operating in the 1.54 micro wavelength region and capable of determining instantaneous ranges to a retroreflector at 50 kilometers. 5) The Optional EO sensor shall have a daylight television camera capable of a 0.4 degree x 4 degree field of view and an Octec autotracker capability shall be supplied installed in the control unit for use with the IR and television sensors.
