The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, intends to negotiate solely with Fisons Instruments for a CHNS Elemental Analyzer (Model EA1108). This equipment shall operate on the dynamic flash combustion principle at a minimum temperature of 1800 degrees C, analyze solid samples from 0.1 to 100 mg and be equipped with a liquid handling autosampler which handles 50 to 196 samples at a time, and separate combustion gases by gas chromatography and integrate the entire sample product stream as it passes through a thermal conductivity detector which shall be directly interfaced to the gas output and this equipment shall be delivered within 60 days. Companies with the demonstrated ability to provide this equipment must submit within 15 days of this notice a written substantive statement completely defining the equipment offered and descriptive literature to the attention of the Contracting Officer at the address above.
