NIH intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC) to provide continuing nursing, clerical, housekeeping, subsistence, laundry, laboratory support and utilities (steam, electricity, gas & water) to the NIH Gerontology Research Center (GRC), which is located on the JHBMC grounds. The authority for this non-competitive action is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1. No other firm can reasonably supply the needed services because the GRC is physically connected to the JHBMC. The resulting contract will be for a one year base period, commencing 1/1/96, with four additional one year options.
