Donovan(703)875-1102 The United States Agency for International Development's (USAID) Africa Bureau, Office of Sustainable Development, Division of Strategic Analysis (AFR/SD/SA) seeks the services of a disadvantaged enterprise to develop, implement, and conduct training for communications programs in support of research conducted through cooperative agreements competitively awarded under the Equity and Growth through Economic Research (EAGER) Project. This support is required to convey the significance of EAGER research and research results to professional audiences and the public in sub-Saharan Africa. These research results will largely be the product of efforts under two grants awarded by USAID in 1995. Required services include: organization and logistic support for conferences of over 100 professionals and smaller workshops and seminars in Africa; organization and conduct of author and expert study tours in Africa and Asia; editing, translation, publishing and dissemination of research reports; and training of researchers to produce information materials for public information and interaction with journalists. USAID anticipates the award of a four year requirements contract, the total value of which will be set aside for a disadvantaged enterprise (U.S. socially and economically disadvantaged, including women-owned businesses; historically black colleges and universities; U.S. colleges and universities with at least 40 percent Hispanic American students; and U.S. private voluntary organizations controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, including women). A request for proposals will be issued O/A 15 days from the date of this publication. The closing date will be O/A 35 days from the issuing date.
