USAID/G-CAP anticipates conducting sole source negotiations with Clapp and Mayne to provide ongoing technical support to the Guatemalan Ministry of Health in the following areas: (1) descentralization of the capacity to manage maternal-child health sources and (2) improved service delivery, especially related to coverage, access, quality and integration of vertical programs. The provision of technical assistance will focus on health areas and districts in highlands region of the country. This contract action is expected to be executed as a modification to contract no. 520-0339-C-00-2147-00 whereby the contract will be extended to August 27, 1996. The total contract duration will be four years and two months. See numbered Notes 22 and 25. Less than full and open competition is being used because of the need to avoid a serious interruption in support to the Ministry of Health in Guatemala as well as to take advantage of the experience gained by Clapp and Mayne in the last three years. No RFP is available, but all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or guotation which shall be considered by USAID/G-CAP.
