Sources Sought: The Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) has a requirement for Operations, Maintenance and Support of Equipment Location (EL) 244, Flin Flon, Manitoba, Canada. The contractor will provide services to operate, maintain and support a seismic research EL. This EL is part of the U.S. Atomic Energy Detection System (USAEDS) network operated to monitor international nuclear weapons limitation treaties. AFTAC will provide the Government Furnished Property (GFP) required to operate, maintain, and support the EL. No security clearances are required. This is not a solicitation but a request for information. Responses should include the following: (1) Experience: an outline of previous projects, specific work previously performed or being performed, background qualifications, and (2) Personnel: professional qualifications and specific experience of technical personnel, including the number of employees. There is no specific format or outline that your response must follow. Include any other specific and pertinent information that would provide assessment of your capabilities. Current activities include, but are not limited to, routine electronics maintenance, routine vehicle maintenance, controlling and accounting for equipment and supplies, troubleshooting data communication equipment, maintaining a technical library, data and power line troubleshooting, routine and emergency intrasite communications/cableplant maintenance, data recording and reporting, station equipment checks, station calibrations, and facilities maintenance. This program is anticipated to be a single award, with four one-year options. Firms responding should indicate whether they are, or are not, a small business, a socially and economically disadvantaged business, a woman owned business, a historically black college or university, or minority institution. The applicable SIC code is 8744 and Small Business size standard for this acquisition is $5.0M. The Air Force reserves the right to consider this acquisition for the 8(a) program, small disadvantaged business set-aside, or small business set-aside based upon responses received. Respondents should provide information regarding capability of the firm to satisfy this requirement no later than 15 days after date of this notice. This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Any costs incurred as a result of response to this announcement shall be borne by the firm and will not be charged to the Government for reimbursement.
