- FLORIDA KEYS NATIONAL MARINE SANCTUARY SOL 52WCNC506051MW DUE 061795
POC Mamie L. Wandick (816) 426-6823 Ext. 237 The following description
has been modified to correct some administrative errors in the text
portion of the announcement. The Government has a requirement for
routine maintenance and inspection of the Upper Mooring Buoy System at
the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The Upper Mooring Buoy
System consists of one hundred eighty three buoys. They are located at
popular diving and fishing spots in the upper Florida Keys between the
seaward extension of Broad Creek and Alligator Reef (a distance of
approximately 37 miles). NOAA may add an average of twelve (12) mooring
bouys per year not to exceed a total of thirty six (36) over the life
of this contract. The Government will provide the material necessary to
maintain the buoys and will be responsible for the installation of new
anchor pins or augers as the additional buoys are added to the system.
The contractor will be responsible for assembling the buoy components,
fastening the assembled buoy to the anchor pin/auger, and maintaining
and inspecting newly added buoys as required. This requirement
includes an option to provide for the inspection and maintenance
service on buoys in an area outside, but adjacent to the Looe Key
National Marine Sanctuary. This option will be identified in the
solicitation as separately priced line items. The period of performance
is for an initial 12 months beginning approximately 11/01/95 with
option provisions for two (2) additional twelve month periods.
Solicitation Number 52WCNC506051MW will be issued on or about 5/17/95.
