addition to original requirement. The closing date of 061595 is an
approximation only. HORIZONTAL PARTING, HIGH PRESSURE SQUEEZE AND
SIMULTANEOUS JOLT WITH COMPENSATING SQUEEZE HEAD (INCLUDING FEEDBACK
CONTROLS), MOLDING MACHINE TO PRODUCE 60 MOLDS PER HOUR IN 24'' X 36''
X 14''/14'' TIGHT FLASKS. MOLDING MACHINE to be of inline design with
one molding station and incorporate following components (list not
necessarily all inclusive): 1) Mold set-off (mold handling system); 2)
mold punch-up & plow-off with flask cleaning; 3) mold transfer
conveyor to inline molding line; 4) flask separator; 5) mold line
index; 6) flask transfer conveyor; 7) high pressure squeeze &
simultaneous jolt molding machine; 8) pattern transfer devices to
alternate second job patterns (two-double station shuttles); 9) pattern
shuttle to change cope & drag pattern after each cycle; 10) mold
transfer conveyor from molding machine to rollover; 11) cope & drag
rollover; 12) mold transfer conveyor from rollover to vent forming &
sprue drill station; 13) vent forming & sprue drill station with
insertable drill fixture; 14) core set conveyor to accommodate six (6)
copes and six (6) drags; 15) mechanized core setting station; 16) cope
rollback; 17) mold closer and set-on to mold handling system; 18) mold
line index control; 19) zero shift registration system; 20) adjustable
mold strike-off; 21) hydraulic power unit with hydraulic oil
filtration; 22) motor control center to include motor starters and
controls for entire system; 23) control panel with Allen Bradley Series
5 Programmable Controller to control all machine functions, including
production & diagnostic reporting as well as data output (Data Highway)
to central plant computer; 24) programmable operator control station,
with touch pad input. MOLD HANDLING SYSTEM to be an indexing type
system to convey 60 molds per hour from molding machine set-on through
pouring, cooling and back to molding machine set-off station. Molds
are to be conveyed on fabricated vented steel bottom boards. Mold
handling system to include the following components (list not
necessarily all inclusive): 1) mold transfer conveyor from molding
machine set-on station to pouring line; 2) 90 degree mold transfer to
pouring line; 3) mold pouring conveyor line to accommodate 10 molds; 4)
90 degree mold rotation & transfer to mold cooling transfer conveyor;
5) mold cooling transfer conveyor with 90 degree transfers to cooling
lines; 6) four (4) mold cooling conveyor lines to accommodate 15 molds
each; 7) mold shakeout transfer conveyor with 90 degree transfers from
cooling lines; 8) 90 degree mold rotation & transfer to bottom board
return conveyor; 9) bottom board return conveyor complete with
brush-off board cleaning device; 10) 90 degree bottom board transfer
car from return conveyor to mold set-on station; 11) motor control
center to include all motor starters & controls for entire mold
handling system with random placement of molds on cooling lines and
with independent control of the four cooling lines; 12) control panel
with Allen Bradley Series 5 Programmable Controller to control all
machine functions, including production & diagnostic reporting as well
as data output (Data Highway) to central plant computer; and 13)
programmable operator control station, with touch pad input.
Descriptions, quantities, locations are based on the best available
data at the time. This is an ALL OR NONE requirement. All responsible
sources may submit a proposal/quotation that shall be considered by the
Agency. Any response should state whether your organization (together
with its affiliates) is a large or small business and whether it is a
small disadvantaged business. All request must state that they are not
currently on the consolidated list of debarred, suspended and
ineligible contractors or otherwise ineligible to receive Government

Verbal requests will not be honored. An Ombudsman has been appointed
for this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive
and communicate his/her concern during the proposal development phase
of this acquisition. Potential offerors should use established channels
to request information, pose questions, and voice concerns before
