East, (202)523-3464 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to award a sole source contract to the Atlanta Paralympic Organizing Committee (APOC), for certain services in support of the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games, including medical and sports competition staffing, technology equipment and supplies, sports equipment and supplies, medical facility equipment and supplies, and education/research to benefit VA support staff to the Paralympic Games. The Atlanta Paralympic Organizing Committee is designated as the governing body to conduct the Paralympic Games and is the only organization capable of identifying and accessing the vast resources required to successfully manage an international event for physically challenged athletes at an elite level of competition. At the conclusion of the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games, all technology equipment and sports equipment purchased by the special purpose gant monies or donated, shall become VA property. All responses must be made in writing and received in this office within fifteen (15) days after initial publication of this notice. Written responses must include technical information that would demonstrate a vendors bonafied ability to meet the specific requirements. If no responses are received to the effect that this service is available from an alternate source, a contract will be awarded to the Atlanta Paralympic Organizing Committee.
