Grants and Contracts, 6100 Bldg., Suite 7A07, Bethesda, MD 20892 A -- SURVIVAL AND HEALTH STATUS ANALYSIS OF PREMATURE, HIGH RISK
DELIVERIES IN THE 1991 LONGITUDINAL FOLLOW-UP TO THE 1988 NATIONAL
MATERNAL AND INFANT HEALTH SURVEY SOL RFP NICHD-DESPR-95-16. DUE
051195. Contact Miss Virginia A. DeSeau/301/496-4611/Contract
Specialist. The National Institute of Child Health and Human
Development (NICHD) is planning to assess the level of technological
support at delivery for survival of extremely premature deliveries. The
available data that will be used for these assessments comes from the
1991 Longitudinal Follow-up (LF) Survey of the 1988 National Maternal
and Infant Health Survey (NMIHS). The LF was created by the National
Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) as a nationally representative data
base for studying children of the respondents in the 1988 NMIHS by
interviewing respondents two to three years later (in 1991). The
hospital of birth and other health providers were identified by each of
the mothers of the children for whom a questionnaire was returned for
the NMIHS. The LF included all women whose child was alive in 1991 plus
samples from the fetal and infant deaths identified in the NMIHS.
Additional information from the American Hospital Association (AHA)
files is required for this analysis in order to link hospital data to
the LF records. An offeror must demonstrate the capacity to provide the
confidential data on hospitals from the AHA; to have successfully
linked data from hospital records to other survey data, e.g., NMIHS
data; and, to have performed complex multivariate analyses using linked
datasets. The issuance of this RFP will be on or about May 11, 1995 and
proposals will be due by 4:00 P.M. (Eastern Daylight Time), on June 30,
1995. Those organizations desiring a copy of the above RFP may send
their written request to Miss Virginia A. DeSeau at the address listed
above or by fax at (301)402-3676. All requests must cite the RFP
number above and include two self addressed mailing labels (if a mail
request). All sources who consider themselves qualified are encouraged
to submit proposals. (115) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0008 19950428\A-0008.SOL)
