Ward, (801) 524-5248, Contracting Officer Gallegos Pumping Plant and
Switchyard are located approximately 13 miles south of Farmington, New
Mexico, in San Juan County. The pumping plant is located adjacent to
the Gravity Main Canal and will receive water through an existing
turnout structure. The pumping plant will deliver water via 16,000 feet
of discharge line to an outlet structure at the head of Burnham
Lateral, a concrete-lined trapezoidal canal. The principal features of
work to be performed under these specifications include: earthwork for
switchyard foundations and structures; concrete for switchyard
foundations, second-stage concrete for pumping plant; furnishing and
placing gravel surfacing; furnishing and erecting switchyard steel
structures; constructing an oil detention structure; furnishing and
installing miscellaneous metalwork; constructing a wastewater
conveyance, treatment and disposal system; installing pumping unit
motors and discharge valves; piping; heating, ventilating, and
air-conditioning system; plumbing fixtures and equipment;
fire-protections systems; fire detection and alarm system; fire supply
equipment; and architectural finishes. The electrical work includes
furnishing and installing the following switchyard equipment:
interrupter switches, power transformer, neutral grounding resistor
units, coupling capacitor voltage transformers, wound-type current
transformers, and terminal boxes; and furnishing and installing the
following pumping plant electrical equipment: 5-Kv and 15-Kv metal-clad
switchgear assemblies; non-segregated phase bus; 5-Kv motor control
equipment; switchyard, and unit control switchboards; programmable
logic controller control boards; 600-volt motor control centers and
boards; station-service unit substation; AC and DC distribution boards;
battery and battery charging-eliminating equipment; direct current
converter and inverter systems; lighting system; telephone system;
security system; forebay water-level indicating systems; low-voltage
power, control, instrumentation, telemetry, telephone cable; power
cable; ground cable and rods; rigid steel and PVC conduit; concrete
pullboxes; and cathodic protection systems. Technical questions should
