The system will include a mass storage device with eight optical disk drives, media, hierarchical storage management (HSM) file management software and magnetic disk cache including rack mount enclosure and all cables required to connect these components to the government furnished equipment SUN SPARC 4/75 computer system. Training is also required. It is proposed to purchase brand name or equal equipment and software. The salient characteristics of the following equipment must be met: DISC Docustore optical disk library model D525 with 1 changer and 8 optical Maxoptix model T3 disk drives; 594GB capacity; AMASS HSM file management system. Compatible with the preceeding item and Solaris 2.x on Sun 4/75 Magneto-optical, 1.3GB platters for the DISC Docustore and a Seagate ST410800WD 9.1GB (formatted) fast wide differential disk. SBus fast wide differential SCSI-2 interface. The system shall require no more than sixteen (16) square feet of floor space. Anticipated solicitation issue date is June 10, 1995.
