Contract Specialist Defense Supply Service-Washington on behalf of the
Army Materiel Command, Army Acquisition Pollution Prevention Support
Office (AAPSO) has a unrestricted requirement for analyses and
management, engineering and technical services to support the execution
of Section 3.303 of Executive Order 12856, the Ozone-Depleting
Chemicals (ODC) Program, Acquisition Pollution Prevention (APP)
Program, Materials Degradation Abatement (MDA) Program, and
Environmentallly Acceptable Materials (EAM) Program. The proposed
contractual effort will consist of review and recommended revision of
technical military documentation to reduce/eliminate the use of
hazardous materials extremely toxic substances, and other
environmentally unacceptable materials (collectively known here after
as HAZMAT), suppporting the Acquisition Executives to infuse pollution
prevention into weapon system acqusition, supporting the execution of
the ODC program to identify and implement alternatives for ODC's, and
supporting the acquisition community and industrial facilties in
identifying alternatives to HAZMAT. The effort will include reviews of
current best industry- available practices, laboratory test and
evaluation, engineering analyses of alternative practices, and
development of pollution prevention tools. This requirement will
include a base year and four option years. Sol. No. DASW01-95-R-0252
