AK 99801 36 -- POWER GENERATOR REHABILITATION Sol. DE-FB85-94AP10043. Due
072895. POC: John White/Nick French (907) 586-7027. The Contractor
shall design, manufacture, furnish, install, and test, complete in
accordance with the specifications, two new armature windings and two
new stator cores, and reinsulate or replace two existing field
windings, as described in the schedule, for vertical hydro-generator
units 1 and 2 at Eklutna Powerplant. The site of the installation work
is in Palmer Alaska, about 34 miles from Anchorage. The units,
complete with new equipment, shall be rated 19, 167 kilovolt amperes,
0.9 power factor, overcited, 6900 volts, 600 revolutions per minute, 3
phase, 60 hertz. The contractor shall perform all disassembly and
reassembly, provide all tools and personnel, and direct all work. The
contractor shall dispose of all used materials including the old cores,
windings and insulating materials (including asbestos insulating
materials). Adjunct to the generator rehabilitation, and at the option
of the government, the contractor will perform work specified for the
rehabilitation of the Francis turbine assemblies for these units. The
contractor will perform and direct all disassembly and reassembly
necessary in order to perform this work. The contractor shall supply
all materials, parts, gaskets, tools, labor, services, etc. as per the
specification. The government shall supply new rotating and stationary
seal rings for installation by the contractor. The government shall
also supply a new turbine runner with integral seal rings for
installation by the contractor in the unit 1 turbine case. The work may
also include replacement and line boring of wicket bushings, gate
linkage bushings, shift ring bearings, wicket gate faceplates, turbine
shaft sealing sleeve and quantitites of welding and Nondestructive
Evaluation (NDE). Solicitation packages will be available on or about
June 5, 1995 with bid opening scheduled on July 28, 1995 at 2:00 pm
local time. A on-site pre-bid conference is scheduled. A $100.00
non-refundable fee, per solicitation, is to be submitted with all
requests for solicitations. Money orders, cashiers checks or bank
certified checks made payable to the ``Department of Energy/Alaska
Power Administration shall accompany all requests for solicitations to
facilitate distribution of the solicitation. Plans and specifications
