70 -- PURCHASE OF INTELLIGENT COMMUNICATIONS CONTROL (ICC) BOARDS SOL RFP5-09930/037 POC Hasani Martin, Contract Specialist, (301) 296-7467. Leigh Anne Giraldi, Contracting Officer, (301) 286-4962. This requirement is for the purchase and installation of Intelligent Communications Control (ICC) boards from Kardios Systems Incorporated, located in Gaithersburg, MD. Installation and warranty service shall be performed at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Greenbelt, MD. The following items will be purchased by NASA/GSFC: Six ICC boards, twelve T1 Port Access Node/Port Access Devices (PAN/PADs) with NASA Data Format and Sync Detector, four Standard (STD) PANs, four RS422 PADs, four Port Cluster Unit (PCU) 32 Port RS449 Enclosures, and four RS449 Power Supplies. The above equipment will be installed and integrated within an existing system populated with Kardios boards. The communications ports will be used to provide expanded capability for a Message Switching System upgrade. The Government requires minimum downtime and integration cost. Therefore, Kardios equipment is required to provide compatibility with the existing Kardios equipment. The Kardios boards are proprietary and the Government does not have the authority to provide drawings or interface documents to allow another firm to manufacture like boards. Kardios is fully compatible with the existing system. Since Kardios products are proprietary it is anticipated that no other firms are available to deliver and install these products. All responsible sources may respond to this synopsis by submitting a written narrative statement of capability, including detailed technical information and other technical literature, demonstrating the ability to meet the requirement.
