FIELD GEL ELECTROPHORESIS SOL 200-95-0945(P) DUE 071495 POC Contact
Susan Brandel at (404) 842-6635 The Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention contemplates awarding a contract to define the molecular
epidemiology of B. pertussis in North America. Pulsed-field gel
electrophoresis (PFGE) will be used to type isolates. The technique
will identify different genetic subtypes of B. pertussis and their
geographic distribution, and allow an assessment of how prevalent
strains change over time. The project will have two components: 1) to
describe geographic distribution, recent B. pertussis isolates from
different regions will be collected and typed; and 2) to assess
temporal changes and trends in strains, a large number of isolates
collected over a long period of time (5-10 years or longer) in several
geographic locations will be typed. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS CONTRACT,
OFFERORS MUST BE IN POSSESSION OF, OR HAVE DOCUMENTED ACCESS TO, MORE
THAN 200 B. PERTUSSIS STRAINS ISOLATED IN A DEFINED GEOGRAPHIC AREA
OVER A PERIOD OF 5 TO 10 YEARS, OR LONGER. The scheduled issue date is
approximately May 26, 1995. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED;
only written requests for this solicitation will be honored. Written
requests should cite RFP No. 200-95-0945(P). All responsible sources
that meet the above requirements may submit a proposal which shall be
considered by the Agency. (0121) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0017 19950502\B-0003.SOL)
