D -- HAWAII INFORMATION TRANSFER SYSTEM (HITS) POC Contact, JoAnne La Puente, 808-477-5742 This is a schedule update for the Hawaii Information Transfer System (HITS). A brief description of HITS is as follows: HITS will provide switched voice and data, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and dedicated transmission services to Department of Defense users and certain authorized Federal agencies throughout the State of Hawaii. For this acquisition, the State of Hawaii encompasses only the eight primary Hawaiian islands, specifically Oahu, Hawaii (also known as the ''Big Island''), Kauai, Maui, Lanai, Molokai, Kahoolawe, and Niihau. The Government is contemplating issuance of a firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery contract combining two indefinite-delivery contract types: (1) Requirements; and (2) Indefinite- Delivery Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) with a provision for award fee. The contract performance period will be ten years from date of contract award. The tentative schedule for issuance of the HITS final solicitation is 3rd quarter CY 1995. The Government plans to charge a fee for the final solicitation based on the desired formats as follows: (1) floppy diskettes - $75.00; and (2) paper copy - $250.00. The charge for the final solicitation will be a onetime charge and will cover all costs associated with release of anticipated solicitation amendments. Note: The draft HITS bidders mailing list (BML) shall be archived and a new BML established for release of the HITS final solicitation. Therefore, all interested vendors including those vendors currently on the HITS draft BML must resubmit a written request for the final solicitation to: DITCO-PAC/DTP2, Suite 2, Building C, 2nd Floor, 99-080 Kauhale Street, Aiea, HI 96701-4104. Please include a current Standard Form 129, Solicitation Mailing List Application, with your request and state in your letter whether your firm is a small disadvantaged business, small business or large business. Please also state in your request the desired solicitation distribution format (e.g., floppy diskette or paper copy). The software programs used for the floppy diskette format are Microsoft Word Version 2.0 and Microsoft Excel Version 5.0. Telephonic requests are unacceptable. Facsimile requests are acceptable, however, facsimile requests must be formal letterhead correspondence with the original signed request forwarded in the mail. Please reference DITCO-PAC Synopsis No. 95-0004-HITS in your correspondence. The Government shall publicize the final issuance date of the solicitation in the near future to include further details on instructions for obtaining the final solicitation and payment procedures.
